all topics. It lists the holdings of over 13,000 libraries worldwide,
including the UNM University Libraries. WorldCat can be used to verify
citation (title, author, year) information for materials and is useful
for Interlibrary Loan requests.

(with a UNM NetID/account).
Books in electronic format are sometimes called "e-books" and are available via the Internet. These books are the digital versions of the printed editions, including illustrations in nearly all cases. The UNM University Libraries has subscribed to several e-book collections that include thousands of titles and covering virtually every subject area. You may access these collections through the Pronto Subject Search - Electronic Books subject page. Each of the collections uses a search engine that allows you to search by (at least) topic or title. Printing and downloading features vary by collection - please review the online help of the collection for these instructions.

is a multi-departmental unit within the UNM University Libraries, encompassing
both traditional public service, collection development, and cataloging
operations as well as specialized research, fundraising, and outreach
functions. DILARES collections serve
as one of the major repositories of Latin American resources in the United
States. They contain an estimated 415,000 monographic volumes (including
some 27,000 rare books and other scarce imprints housed in Special Collections),
1,100 current serial subscriptions, more than half a million microform
units, 13,500 posters, 4,500 photographs, approximately 310 cubic feet
of manuscript material, and a significant array of electronic resources.
Map and Geographic Information Center (MAGIC)
The University of New Mexico is a regional depository for government information.
Most cartographic related material is housed in MAGIC. While our collection
holds a number of maps that would be considered historic for various
places around the world, we do have some specific collections for historic
research:
Microforms preserve otherwise fragile materials for long term use and provide a compact means of storing large collections. The UNM University Libraries holds 4 million microforms; these materials comprise a significant portion of the Library's holdings and help support research in a number of areas. Centennial, Fine Arts, Parish, and Zimmerman libraries house microforms in film and fiche format. These collections are listed as part of the LIBROS online catalog.
