Starting in November University Libraries will be piloting no-charge printing for UNM students. Every student with a valid Lobo Card at UNM will automatically receive a $10 printing credit on their Lobo Card sometime in November. Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to publicize the date of the printing deposit. If all goes well, every Lobo Card holder will receive a $10 printing credit for each semester they are enrolled. According to our data most students will never have to pay to print again.
Where can I use my printing credit?
Your $10 printing credit can be used in any of the four central campus library branches: Zimmerman, Fine Arts & Design, Parish and Centennial. Sorry, the Law Library and the Health Sciences Library have a different system so you credit cannot be used there.
How many pages can I print with $10.
Printing costs in the library are currently 10 cents per single-side page and 18 cents per double-sided page;
which is about 115 pages, or twelve 5 page essays, and two 25 page papers.
Can I use the credit other places?
No, you won’t be able to use the printing credit on your LoboCard to buy Starbucks coffee or shop in the bookstore. You can only use it to pay for printing.
If I don’t use all my credit will it stay on my Lobo Card after the semester is over?
If you don’t use all your printing credits during the semester they will not roll over to the next semester.
What happens when I have used up my $10?
If you use up your $10 credit before the next credit is given you can either buy a library copy/print card or if you have a cash balance on your Lobo Card you can use that. Lobo Cash can be added online using a credit card at http://lobocard.unm.edu or you can add cash by visiting the Lobo Card office in the Student Union Building.
How much does color and oversize printing cost?
Current printing and copying costs are:
Black and White
SingleSided - 10 cents
Double Sided - 18 cents
Color - 50 cents
