Welcome to DILARES

The Division of Iberian and Latin American Resources and Services (DILARES) is a multi-departmental unit within the UNM University Libraries, encompassing both traditional public service, collection development, and cataloging operations as well as specialized research, fundraising, and outreach functions. DILARES collections serve as one of the major repositories of Latin American resources in the United States. They contain an estimated 415,000 monographic volumes (including some 27,000 rare books and other scarce imprints housed in Special Collections), 1,100 current serial subscriptions, more than half a million microform units, 13,500 posters, 4,500 photographs, approximately 310 cubic feet of manuscript material, and a significant array of electronic resources. These holdings cover all of the social sciences, humanities, and fine arts as well as several professional fields. Within the University Libraries, opportunities for research are particularly strong in Latin American history, art history, photography, and popular graphics, areas in which the Library has built up extensive collections of original source material in a variety of formats. Mission

In addition, the UNM-based Ibero-American Science & Technology Education Consortium: ISTEC, and its Library Linkages Program, provide scientific materials and real-time information services through a unique network of 44 participating institutions. We invite you to explore our website and to use the collections.
