Help

SORA has grown substantially since its inception.  The need to standardize the archive has become pressing, both in terms of maintaining the present contents and in terms of incorporating new content. For these reasons, among others, we have decided to adopt an XML/SGML standard.  This standard will apply for all new material in the archive.  (Materials already present will be reformatted to this standard as time permits.)

In addition to making it easier to incorporate new series into the collection, standardizing the SGML/XML behind it will allow us to provide fuller and more accurate search results.  It will also allow for the development of techniques to enhance the interconnectedness of the materials.

We have chosen to follow the standard created by National Center for Biotechnology Information for data published in PubMed Central. Version 2.3 of the standard is available electronically here.  In general, all pertinent tags should be used.
