LIBROS, the LIBRary Online System, is the online catalog for the LIBROS Consortium Member Libraries. LIBROS includes listings of books, periodical titles (magazines, journals, newspapers), government publications, audiovisual material, sound recordings, musical scores, special collections, maps, microforms, and Web page documents/files. LIBROS does not include listings of journal articles.

When you search the LIBROS online catalog and review a record you may see the item's author, title, and publisher. You will also see a box containing the following information:

location - where is the item located? Because LIBROS is a consortium, there are records for many different libraries throughout the state of New Mexico. Therefore, the location can indicate the Internet (e.g. www), or a consortium member library (e.g. sfcc), or an area within a member library (e.g. zimref).
call number - describes how to find the item. Call numbers provide a way to organize materials. [More on Call Numbers]
status - describes the item's availability. If the record says check shelves, the item should be available for check out or review. If it gives a due date, then the item is checked out, and it reports when the item is due back. Lib use only means the item must be used within the library, and it will not be checked out.
