What can I check out?
Not all items circulate. Items for which the status box in LIBROS reads "LIB USE ONLY" cannot be checked out.
Periodicals may circulate if they are at least 3 years old.

How do I check out library materials?
Go to the Circulation Desk.
You will need to present your LOBO ID every time you check out library materials.

How many books may I check out and for how long?
The total number of items that may be checked out at any one time is 200. The limit of 50 items from CSEL or 3 Reserve items applies to the 200 item limit.
Loan periods:
Undergraduate & non-degree students: 30 days
Graduate students, faculty, & staff: until the end of the current semester
Periodicals: 1 week (same for everyone)
Reserve items: varies (2 hours, 1 day, or 3 days)

May I renew my books?
All general collection loans (excluding Reserve items and periodicals) may be renewed twice if the item has not been requested by another patron.
Renew online through LIBROS Services - Renew your materials
Renew by phone: 277-6245
Renew in person at any of the UNM University Libraries' circulation desks

How do I recall an item checked out to another patron?
When an item is checked-out, a due date will appear in the status field of the LIBROS Online Catalog. If you would like to use the item, click the REQUEST button in the "LIBROS Navigation Bar" (at top and the bottom of the screen). You will be prompted to enter your name and patron ID number (typically your UNM ID number). Follow the online prompts to recall the item.
