My search isn't working. What do I do?

Are you using the best database for your subject? If you're not sure, check the Database Advisor or the research guide by subject that best covers your topic. [Show me more about Database Advisor or Subject Guides] If you are unsure, ask a reference librarian for suggestions.

Examine one of the irrelevant records and try to see why your search terms retrieved it. It may give you an idea about which search terms aren't working for you and need to be replaced or eliminated.
