What is a Depository Library?
The
Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) started in the mid-1800s.
The FDLP makes available to the public no-fee access to information
produced by Federal agencies. Materials received "on deposit" are
kept permanently by regional libraries.
Access
is through the approximately 1,200 depository libraries located throughout
the United States and its possessions.
Depository
libraries ensure no-fee access to government information.
