What is a Regional Depository Library?

Regionals receive and permanently retain all federal government information available for Depository Libraries that is printed by or disseminated through the Government Printing Office. There are currently 51 Regional Depository Libraries throughout the United States.

Selective Depository Libraries choose federal agency publications based on collection development policies that support their library's educational goals.

The University of New Mexico University Libraries has been a depository for federal documents since 1896 and has been a Regional Depository since 1967.
