Services for Retired and Emeriti UNM Faculty & Staff

University Benefits

The UNM Human Resources website includes general descriptions of retiree benefits. Persons who are of retirement age, but who did not actually retire from UNM, are not entitled to library privileges.

Circulation Services

Materials may be checked out using your Lobocard. For information about loan lengths and renewals, please visit the Borrowing Materials information page. You can authorize one proxy borrower on your University Libraries account. The proxy will be able to pick up, check out, and renew library materials on the authorizing borrower’s account. The proxy must be over the age of 18 and have a photo ID. For additional information, see the Borrowing Materials information page.

Computer Access

Retired faculty and staff may use their UNM netid and password to use computers in all library facilities. For help with your netID and password visit the UNM Information Technologies website.

Electronic/Digital Library Resource

Retired faculty and staff have the same access to library databases and other resources as when they were actively employed. For further information, see the Off-campus Access link in the Help menu, which includes information about off-campus access as well as usage guidelines.

Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery Services

Create an ILLiad account to use Interlibrary Loan(ILL). ILL allows you to obtain materials from other libraries. Books and other returnable materials are picked up at, and should only be returned to, the Zimmerman Library Service Desk. Articles are posted to your ILLiad account.

Library Express (also known as document delivery) allows you to request materials from the University Libraries. Books are held for you at the service desk of the appropriate branch library (Zimmerman, Fine Arts & Design, Parish, or Centennial). Articles are posted to your ILLiad account.
