South Campus Repository

Each year University Libraries adds more than 20,000 physical items to our collections without the possibility of adding more square feet to existing buildings. That amount of new material requires nearly ½ mile of shelving – the distance on Central Ave. between Yale Blvd and Girard Blvd.

The South Campus Repository will house less-used library materials in a climate-controlled, high-density environment allowing us to address significant space constraints in our existing Central Campus libraries – Zimmerman, Centennial Science & Engineering, and Fine Arts & Design. The facility is located on the south campus of UNM.

One of our guiding principles will be to continually review and revisit any decisions regarding the selection of collections housed in the repository. For more information about how collections are selected, please see the Policy for Repository Selection.

Access to Materials

The materials moved to the South Campus Repository will continue to be available through electronic deliveries as well as courier pickup and delivery.
